The aim of this study was to map prenatal attachment studies in the field of nursing using bibliometric analysis. The data for the study were obtained from the Web of Science database on August 10, 2025, using the keywords “prenatal attachment” or “prenatal bonding.” The study category was selected as “nursing,” and 67 research and review articles published in English between 1990 and 2025 were analyzed using the VOSviewer 1.6.20 software. Studies related to prenatal bonding in the field of nursing peaked in 2022 (8 articles). The authors with the most publications in this field were Denise Cote-Arsenault, Alessandra Busonera, and Stefania Cataudella. The authors with the highest number of citations were Ds Armstrong, Jeanne L. Alhusen, and Bl Cannella. The institutions with the most publications are Selçuk University (n=5) and İnönü University (n=4) in Türkiye, and the Karolinska Institute (n=4) in Sweden. The University of Louisville (n=187) is the most cited university, while among the universities with the most citations and articles, İnönü University (4 articles, 43 citations) ranks 15th and Selçuk University (5 articles, 37 citations) ranks 19th in Türkiye. The country with the most collaboration is the United States of America (USA). The other countries that collaborate most with the US are Sweden and Türkiye. Türkiye ranks third with 18 links as “Turkey” and has 6 more links as “Turkiye” with its updated spelling in recent years. Most of the studies in this field have been published in the Midwifery (n=15) journal. The most frequently repeated keywords are “pregnancy” (23 repetitions) and “prenatal attachment” (21 repetitions). The findings obtained as a result of the research are expected to serve as a roadmap for studies to be conducted on prenatal attachment in the field of nursing in terms of leading publications.
